A temple that solves the sins of 21 generations! A place to visit at least once in a lifetime!

A temple that solves the sins of 21 generations! A place to visit at least once in a lifetime!

Teemple History

There are many temples in Tamil Nadu to show the pride of our Tamils. Our elders point out that if you visit this temple only once, you will improve your educational and employment opportunities. Really, what is there in this temple? If we go to this temple, we can know about what will change and what will happen.

Let's know the special and amazing information about this temple and the city in which it is located.

Thiruvengadu Suvedharanyeswarar Temple is also known as Adi Chidambaram, as it is said to be the shrine where Lord Shiva performed 1008 different kinds of Dandavas. Let's know about this Tiruvengadu temple, which has many prides as the temple where Lord Shiva performed Ananda Thandavam, one of the 108 shakti peedams, and the temple where the sun, moon, and mercury were worshipped.

Even though it is a temple of Lord Shiva, people flock to this temple to solve their horoscope and family sins, get good benefits in life, and get a better education. It has been a long-standing belief that people who have family problems come to this temple and bathe in the Tirtha Pool, which can be kept here, to get rid of family problems.

A Rudrapadam has been erected at the Thiruvengadu site.

Ruthrapadam

If we worship this, then 21 generations of sins will be removed. The belief should specifically say that even if we worship Vishnu's foot, which can be in Kashi, only seven generations of sins will be removed. But one who properly worships Rudrapada at the Tiruvengadu site gets three times more benefit than Kashi. Mercury's direction lasts for 17 years in one's life. Therefore, they will light 17 lamps and worship Buddha Sannithan, which can be in Thiruvengat. It is very good to go around and worship 17 times. Only 28 types of Agama rules are observed in temples.

In every temple, different types of Agamas are observed. But only three types of Agamas are observed at the Tiruvenkadu site. Generally, Mercury is said to be an alien planet without males or females. But in Tiruvenkat, Lord Mercury is a malefic planet and bestows grace. It is a belief that worshipping Thiruvengadu Budha will bring us eight types of powers, including education, Raja yoga, Kubera yoga wealth, marriage, wealth, prosperity, and excellence in the arts.

If we bathe in all three ponds in Thiruvengat and worship the goddess, we will surely get a child. There has been a great belief that even if the pooja is performed properly in this temple for all three of Swami Amman Buddha, the child will definitely be born.

People who worship Tiruvengadu Agora Murthy as their family deity

Agora Murthy

There are many people in Nagai district who are suffering from problems of witchcraft and come to this Thiruvengadu site and perform homam. It is said that if you worship the Agora Murthy, Pitru Dosha will get rid of it.

According to legend, at this site, Nandi, who went to fight against the monster called Medicine, was pierced by the monster in nine places with a spear. This Nandi can still be seen in front of Lord Shiva. The Nandi's body has nine places pierced by spears. Abhishekam will be done for Nandi. We can see that, and we can say that Pradosha worship is done very well here for that Nandi.

The Thiruvengadu site is spread over a total area of 17 acres. Temple worship will give us soul satisfaction if we patiently look at the shrines that can be here. Some of those who come to worship Buddha at the Tiruvengadu site even go directly to the Buddha shrine to worship. This is a mistake: after first worshipping Swami and then Ambala, one should go to Budhan Sannadi and perform remedial pujas.

Those who wish to perform poojas at this site should perform a special archan to all the five deities, namely Lord Ganesha, Agora Murthy Ambal, and Budhan. A statue of Kali that can be found at this site is set up with a monstrous facial structure. But in this temple, Kali is said to be gentle. This Kali is the one who always gives all the boons that the devotees ask for. Thus, this Kali can be worshipped without fail.

A huge altar is set up in front of the Kali sanctum, and this altar is very powerful. That is why there is a restriction that devotees should worship this altar without touching it. In general, if we take it as an ancient temple, some paintings and sculptures about the history of the temple must have been set up in that temple. Some temples even have inscriptions. In this Tiruvengadu temple, the history of the site is arranged in paintings in the hall.

Nataraja Shrine

Lord Nataraja

This temple is also designed and built like the Chidambara Nataraja site. At the Tiruvenkadu site, we can see that the layout of the enclosures is large. The presence of trees here and there makes it convenient for devotees to stay and rest. Tourists and those who come on Wednesdays are accommodated in the temple hall.

Pujas continue here for a few extra hours in the afternoon only on Wednesdays. As special abhishekams are held here for Lord Mercury, such arrangements have been made. We can say that it is very good to calculate our poja time and plan the tour.

Many devotees come to this temple to pray and pay a fine. As it is the site of Mercury in Navagraha Thalams, Lord Mercury wears green clothes and performs Neivedyam in a suit of venkanthal flowers, adding salt to the dal powder. It is done because Lord Buddha should be worshipped for all the nerve-related diseases in our odies. People with marriage dosha putra dosha follow the method of lighting 17 deepams to Lord Mercury here.

Swami is anointed with Mango Turmeric Powder, Draviya Powder Balm, Milk Curd Vibhuti Panneer, Young Water, Panchamirtam, Lemon Honey, and Sandalwood. And the devotees who come to this temple also bring these items neatly and give them for abhishekam. Also, the devotees who can come to this temple are allowed to make alms. Neivedhyam to Swami and to the devotees. It is said that it can be preached.

Apart from this, we can also perform regular abhisheka prayers. Well-to-do people also give huge financial support to this temple. Generally, six of the bases are equal to Kashi. Thiruvengadu is one and the same. Murthy Thirtha Thalavirutsam is all three on this site. Among the navagrahas, it is one of the 51 shakti peedhas of Mercury. One of the 64 idols of Lord Shiva, Agora Murthy, can be seen only at this site. He is a Nava Thandavam; that's why it is called Aaru Chidambaram.

What the local history of this temple says is that, due to the boon received from Brahma, the monster named Medicana has been causing suffering to the gods. As blessed by Lord Shiva, the gods lived in Tiruvenkat in a different form. When Asura came to the forest, he was fighting. Asura got penance towards Shiva and got a mace and hit Itapa Deva with the mace and injured him.

Lord Shiva got up in anger to appeal to Lord Shiva when the Agora Murti appeared standing on one of his five faces, Isaniya, and as soon as he saw the Agora form, the demon surrendered to Shiva and worshipped him. The surrendered demon can be seen at the feet of the Agora Murthy, and the injured Idapadeva Swati Ishwara Swamy can be seen even today in the resting hall. This site remains the most famous special prayer site in South India.

One of the most important features of this site is that it can be said that Lord Shiva is graced here as Swayambu Murthy. This platform is also a great way to get the full grace of Lord Mercury.
